Palatine Police Offer Free Home Security Survey After Burglaries
Two home burglaries were reported over the weekend in one Palatine neighborhood.

PALTINE, IL - The Palatine Police Department is offering a free home security survey to residents who sign up. The village reminded residents of the offer on Wednesday while reporting a pair of home burglaries that occurred in the village over the weekend.
Police said that two Palatine homeowners in the area of West Wood Street and North Crescent Avenue reported that they were victims of burglaries during the overnight hours of Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4. According to police, evidence points to one homeowner leaving a patio door unlocked, while the other homeowner left a garage service door and main garage open.

Police also offered the following tips, urging residents to ask these questions before going to bed at night.

• Is it a good idea to post social media pictures, letting everyone know I am not home, especially when on vacation?
