Palatine Public Library District Board Announces Five Open Seats for April 2017 Election.

At the regular monthly meeting of September 14, 2016, Board President Karen M. Reshkin announced there will be five openings on the Board of Library Trustees for the April 2017 election. Each of these seats is a four-year term covering May 2017 through May 2021.
September 20, 2016 is the first day for Library Board candidates to circulate petitions for the April election. Information for candidates may be found on the Cook County Clerk’s website and on the Illinois State Board of Elections website. The filing period for nomination papers, which can be found on the noted websites, is set by the Cook County Clerk.
Nomination papers for the five open Trustee positions will be accepted only in the Administrative Offices, located on the Second Floor of the Main Library.

Nomination papers will be accepted Monday, December 12, 2016 – Monday, December 19, 2016, during regular business hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
No late submissions will be accepted.

Interested persons will also find paper copies of the information (available for photocopying) in the Administrative Office located at the Main Library, 700 N. North Ct. during weekday business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Candidates must reside in the Library District’s service area and fulfill all other requirements as noted in the information for candidates.
The consolidated election will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017.
