Palatine's 4x800 Relay Finishes Second at State
The girl's state track meet was held last weekend in Charleston.
The Palatine High School girls track and field team finished 21st out of 66 teams at the state meet this weekend in Charleston.
Palatine's 4x800-meter placed second at the state meet with a time of 9:12.21. The team was made up of Liz Cox, a junior; Cassidy McPherson, a junior; Kara Burton, a sophomore; and Tess Wasowicz, a senior. Placing first in the relay was the New Trier High School team with a time of 9:04.86.
Meg Jump, a Palatine High School senior, placed sixth in the triple jump finals with a mark of 37-01.25. Jessica Lincoln and Sabina Yosif both competed for Palatine High School in the 3,200-meter run. Lincoln, a junior, came in 27th place with a time of 11:20.16 and Yosif, a freshman, finished in 35th place with a time of 11:47.29.

In total, 12 Palatine High School track athletes qualified for the state meet. The Pirates also won their sectional meet this past track season.
