PALATINE, IL — A 16-year-old Palatine High School student died Tuesday afternoon from injuries he sustained during a dirt bike crash near his home in Palatine on Saturday, the Daily Herald reports. Andrew Marton was riding with his father, Adam Marton, when Andrew lost control, drove the bike off a city street and hit a tree.

He was wearing a helmet and his father performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived at the scene, according to the article. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital but never regained consciousness and was declared brain dead at 2:57 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Daily Herald.

Andrew's organs were donated following his death, and a ceremony recognizing that donation was held Wednesday outside the hospital, according to a GoFundMe page set up to bring in funds for Andrew's family to help cover the teen's medical expenses.
