Palatine Township Accepting ‘Apple Tree Campaign’ Registrations
The annual program is in its 29th year provides donated backpacks with school supplies for under-resourced children in the Township.

Registration has begun for individuals who would like to nominate children for the Palatine Township Apple Tree Campaign. The program is now in its 29th year, and provides backpacks full of donated school supplies for under-resourced Palatine Township children in kindergarten through 9th grade. These school supplies are earmarked for use during the 2017-2018 school year.
Applications must be submitted by June 12, 2017 for each child, individually; registration forms can be completed online at http://www.palatinetownship.com/2017-apple-tree-sign-up/. The parents/guardians of children accepted into the program will be notified by June 30, 2017. The backpacks and school supplies will be distributed the first week in August on three separate dates, and children who are chosen must be present during one of those dates to receive the supplies.
“For nearly 30 years, Palatine Township has ensured that children who need the most basic tools to start the school year on a solid note, have what they need so that they can focus on learning,” said Sharon Langlotz-Johnson, Palatine Township Supervisor. “This is one of the many examples of our yearly programs that support the core philosophy of the Township, which is, ‘People Serving People’.”
