Palatine Township Hosts Health and Happiness Fair on Wednesday, July 19

Palatine Township is pleased to invite Township residents to the annual Health and Happiness Fair which offers free screenings, educational presentations and information to keep individuals and families continually thinking about healthier life alternatives and choices. Free refreshments will be provided by Costco and giveaways will be available from select participants listed below. Please see the list of the FREE services to be provided. This event will be held on Wednesday, July 19 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Palatine Township Center, 721 S. Quentin Road in Palatine.

• New registrants to our Transportation Services will get their first round trip free.
• The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs will answer questions on State and Federal benefits.
• Palatine Police Officer Kellie Poliquin will provide crime and scam prevention tips for seniors.
• Free Macular Degeneration and hearing screening, sponsored by Palatine Lions Club, will be available.
• Free blood pressure, free glucose screenings, pneumonia and shingles vaccines (subject to insurance copayment) will be provided by Jewel/Osco.
• NCH Physical Rehab will provide free posture screenings. Additional spine and posture screenings and stress management techniques provided by Chiro One.
• Visit with two teams of animal-assisted therapy dogs, provided by NCH, from 9:00 a.m. until -11:00 a.m. and from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
• Familia Dental will answer your dental questions.
• Luther Home will explain “MyRehab”, a short-term rehabilitation following a hospital stay.
• Dr. Paul Brezinski, a licensed podiatrist, will answer questions, provide educational literature, and offer free foot screenings.
• The Grand at Lakes will explain care options for seniors and distribute educational materials about health and wellness.
• Did you know square dancing is a great way to keep active and social? Come learn a step or two with the Arlington Squares-Square Dance Company.
• Palatine Township Senior Center will provide Medicare counseling and educational information about disability services and Medicaid.
• Flo Fitness and Martial Arts will offer free fitness assessments, prizes, and educational materials.
• Reliv International, a 28-year-old food science company, will offer nutritional information for all ages.
• The School of Metaphysics will provide information on their Sunday healing service.
• Nutrition and lifestyle tips, meditation, and yoga moves will be provided by Sewa International.
• The Citizens Utility Board, American Cancer Society, Schaumburg Township Disability Services, Costco Wholesale, and more vendors will attend and offer information for you make healthy and happy decisions.
