PALATINE, IL — The Palatine Village Council decided this week to keep ban on video gambling in town in place. In April 2015, more than 60 percent of Palatine voters rejected video gambling in an advisory referendum, the Daily Herald reports.
Since then, restaurant and bar owners have occasionally come before the village council requesting approval to put video gambling machines in at their businesses, according to the article. Last January, the village council agreed to re-visit the topic, and in May, took a closer look at possible fees, licensing and other regulations for establishments.
On Monday, the village council voted down an ordinance that would allow video gambling in town.
