
Memorial services for Peter R. Larsen will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Christ Lutheran Church, 41 S. Rohlwing Road, Palatine. Interment will be private. Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 5 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the church.
Peter was born on Sept. 25,1946 in Madison, Wi the son of the late Roy and Elizabeth (nee Odegard) Larsen and passed away on Monday, Oct. 1.
Peter’s faith in God was very important to him. A very active member of Christ Lutheran Church where he served on the church council, was president of the congregation for seven years, stewardship chairman, Stephen Ministry Leader, financial secretary, confirmation teacher, PADS volunteer, sang in the church choir, rode with the church bike club and member of the Bushwackers Team.

Peter worked for Graebel Movers Inc. for 40 years prior to retiring in October of 2011. During his time with Graebel, Peter held numerous positions including sales, operations manager and general manager of numerous locations. He was also instrumental in establishing an international division in Chicago.
Peter was a distinguished military graduate of the ROTC program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. During his two years of active service he was deployed to Korea before returning and being honorably discharged. Peter then served in the Army Reserve for 20 years. He retired with the rank of Major.

Peter was also a former member and president of the Beloit Jaycee’s. Some hobbies of his included bicycling, being an avid reader, exploring nature and hiking in state parks. He was a life long student of history, enjoyed traveling and most importantly visiting family and spending time with those he loved.
Beloved husband of Jamie J. (nee Straub) Larsen; loving father of Peder (David Loeffelholz) and Kirk (Fiancée Alicia Wagner) Larsen; dear brother of Eric (Sevim) Larsen, Trygve (Eleanor) Larsen and Kristi (William) Druckrey; treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews.
