Police Investigate Death of Boy, 2, in Palatine

PALATINE, IL — Authorities in Palatine are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy who was rushed to a nearby hospital on Thursday night, police said. Police responded at about 9:50 p.m. to the 1300 block of East Evergreen Drive in Palatine for a medical emergency.

The boy was taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say foul play is not suspected and no persons of interest are in custody.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office will be conducting an autopsy on the boy.
