A 19-year-old Palatine man faces charges after police said he fired off a gun in Wheeling and fled authorities. Adrian Soto, of 1908 Green Lane Apt. 1A in Palatine, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 9 following a short foot pursuit in the area of Baldwin Road near Dundee Road in Palatine. Police said they found a loaded Taurus .357 Magnum revolver on Soto as well as 1.2 grams of cocaine. Palatine police were notified by the Wheeling Police Department on Oct. 9 that Soto had been involved in an incident where a firearm was discharged in Wheeling, according to a Palatine Police Department press release. He has been charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and armed violence. A $200,000 bail has been set in the case and Soto is next expected in court on Oct. 24.
