Police Searching For 'Distraught' Palatine Man

Edward Zahnle, 46, left a "disturbing note" found by his family before leaving his home.

PALATINE, IL — Police are asking for help finding a distraught Palatine man who left a "disturbing note" found by his family. Edward Zahnle, 46, was last seen on foot in the downtown area, Palatine police said in a statement released Tuesday night.

Zahnle left his home without taking any of his personal belongings or his medication, which he needs to take treat a health condition, police said. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt with "U-46 Deaf & Hard Of Hearing 5K" written out across the front in a blue-and-gold banner.

Zahnle is described as:

  • a white male
  • 5 feet, 9 inches tall
  • heavy set
  • a receding hairline
