Police Seek Two in Armed Robbery at Gas Station Near Palatine
A gas station clerk was held at gunpoint and cash was stolen from the Marathon Gas Station in unincorporated Palatine.

Police are seeking two suspects accused in an armed robbery Tuesday night at a Marathon Gas Station in unincorporated Palatine.
Police said they were called to investigate the armed robbery after a store clerk at the gas station, located at 20235 N. Rand Road in unincorporated Palatine, was held at gun point by two male suspects at about 11:25 p.m., according to a Lake County Sheriff's Office press release.

The offenders are accused of stealing cash and then fleeing on foot south toward Lake Cook Road. Three Lake County Sheriff’s Office canine teams and a Schaumburg Police canine team responded to the scene. The canines detected the scent of the offenders, which led from the Marathon Gas Station and ended in the area of Lake Cook Road and Plum Grove Road in Palatine, police said.
The offenders were not located and remain at large, according to the news release.

The suspects are both described as white or Hispanic males between the ages of 15 and 20 years old. The first suspect is described as being between 5-feet 7-inches and 5-feet 8-inches tall, a medium build with brown eyes and brown hair. The suspect was wearing a checkered-style-hooded sweatshirt, black pants with white stripes and was carrying a fluorescent yellow backpack. He is accused of displaying a handgun.
The second suspect is described as being between 5-feet 10-inches and 5-feet 11-inches tall with a medium build and brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt with the wording "Southpolice" written on it and grey-camouflage-style pants. He carried a black backpack with a white emblem.
Anyone with information regarding this incident or recognize the clothing worn by the offenders should contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 847-377-4147. The faces of the offenders in the attached photographs have been removed, due to the possibility they are juveniles.
