Property tax exemption applications for Palatine Township residents are now available for the 2023 tax year at the Township assessor’s office at Palatine Township Center 721 South Quentin Road in Palatine.

“If you come into our office, we can verify which exemptions you have currently,” said Bill Pohlman, Palatine Township Assessor. “If you need to file for an exemption, we can help fill out the form and then we’ll submit it to Cook County. If you prefer to file online, you can submit your application directly with Cook County at the Cook County Assessor web site.”

The Homeowner Exemption, available to all owner-occupied homes, will automatically be renewed for those who received it last year. Individuals who purchased their homes in 2022 will have to apply this year for the 2023 Homeowner Exemption. In addition, recipients of the exemption for People with Disabilities will have their exemptions automatically renewed.
