Quest Academy Second Grader Wins All-School Spelling Bee

A second grade student wins the Quest Academy spelling bee, he competed against 15 other students in grades 2-8.

Quest Academy congratulates Lucas Hernacki (Grade 2) on winning the all-school spelling bee on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He spelled words such as: “cavalcade,” “habanero,” “Jacobean,” “thaumaturge,” and “eucalyptus” with such relative ease and enthusiasm. Lucas will go on to compete in the North Cook County District Spelling Bee in February with the hopes of qualifying for the Regional Spelling Bee. Lucas shared that winning the bee at Quest has been a dream of his for some time, and he is beyond thrilled to have fulfilled his dream. Last year, Lucas was the first 1st grader in seven years to qualify for the all-school bee. The all-school spelling bee consisted of 16 students in grades 2-8.
