Samurang Games & Martial Arts Festival Saturday April 9th

This coming Saturday, April 9th, an epic tournament is coming to Palatine – the 17th annual Samurang Games & Martial Arts Festival hosted by JP Wood Martial Arts America.

The event will be held at Falcon Park Recreational Center, 2195 Hicks Road in Palatine, and feature a full-day of 15 contests and events. Doors open at 9:30 am with festival events open at 10:00 am. Competitors will range in age from 4 years to 64 years of age.

Events include martial arts forms, weapon forms, self-defense tactical and self-defense entertainment, Taekwondo sparring and Gumdo soft sword sparring. The wildly popular skill contests include board breaking, jumping high kick, fast kicking , warrior obstacle course, and more. This year JP Wood is looking to break last year's record of almost 500 medals awarded in the festival contests alone! Grand champions will also be awarded in forms, self-defense, and select festival contests.

Spectators are welcome ($7.00 admission price for adults, $5.00 for children), and all spectators and competitors will receive a take home bag with coupons. Refreshments will be available for purchase all day. The public is invited to come out and view an exciting day of family friendly martial arts competitions.
