Save the Date for Upcoming Events Hosted by Vernon Township

Vernon Township has several upcoming events for residents to provide recreation, important information about property tax freezes, a community garage sale and more. Save the date for the following upcoming events!

Ice Cream Social on Friday, June 9 from 5-8 p.m.

Join the Township on Friday, June 9 from 5 - 8 p.m. for an Ice Cream Social at the Jacob Grossman Aquatic Center (16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Buffalo Grove)! The event will include a live band performing family-friendly music, free lawn games, premium ice cream to purchase at the concession stand and discounted entrance to the pool. The Township will also be holding a raffle for one Four Person Family 2023 Season Pool Pass – and participants do not need to be present to win. Proceeds from the raffle will help fund future free community events within Vernon Township.

Summer Camp on Monday, June 12 - Friday, July 28.

Summer camp registration is now open for children from 4-7 years of age which takes place Monday, June 12 - Friday, July 28 at William E. Peterson Park (16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Vernon Hills). Children will have a fun and educational experience with activities, including arts and crafts, sports, swimming, sing-a-longs and more! Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, June 22 at 7 p.m.

Join Curtis Perlman, Vernon Township Assessor and Jonathan Altenberg, Vernon Township Supervisor at the Township offices (2900 N. Main Street in Buffalo Grove) to learn more about the differences between the Senior Exemption and the Senior Freeze for your property taxes.

Vernon Township 14th Annual Community Garage Sale on Saturday, June 24 at 10 a.m.

Vernon Township’s 14th annual Community Garage Sale will be held in the west parking lot of Prairie View Train Station (23034 N. Main Street, Buffalo Grove) rain or shine on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you would like to be a vendor at this event, the Township has spaces available, in addition to two spaces (16ft x 17ft) for $25 each, with proceeds benefiting the Vernon Township Food Pantry. Spaces are available on a first come first served basis and can be reserved in person at the Township office (3050 N. Unplug Illinois Day is Saturday, July 15 and residents are invited to take a break from your electronics and get outside to the Jacob Grossman Memorial Pool! Enjoy the day with friends and family and take advantage of “buy one, get one free” daily admission.
