Schaumburg Is Handing Out Free Face Masks
The city will be handing out about 70,000 masks to residents during distribution events in the coming days.
SCHAUMBURG, IL — Village officials in Schaumburg plan to hand out about 70,000 free masks to residents starting Wednesday and continuing through Friday. The mask distribution event is being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily in the parking lot of the Boomers Stadium, according to a post on the City of Schaumburg's Facebook page.
Only seniors ages 65 years old and older were invited to the Wednesday event in the parking lot of the stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road. On Thursday, masks will be handed out from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for residents with a last name beginning with the letters A through L, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday for residents with last name beginning with the letters M through Z, according to city officials.

Masks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis in a drive-thru fashion. Attendees are asked to have their identification ready when they enter the site and to show either their driver's license or a utility bill to serve as proof of residency, according to the Facebook post.
Attendees are asked to remain patient and expect long lines. Up to a maximum of five masks are allowed to be distributed per vehicle, according to city officials.
