St. Theresa School 3rd Grade Brownies Helping Palatine Families

St. Theresa School 3rd grade Brownies pulled together to collect food items and ingredients to fill a large basket to enable the making of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to under-resourced Palatine Township families.

On Friday, November 3rd, Troop #40895 decorated Thanksgiving cards, put all of the collected items in a basket and along with a grocery store gift card donated from the troop, walked over to Palatine Township to drop off the basket. The girls learned that about 700 families in our community will be provided with a Thanksgiving basket and they were thrilled to know they could contribute at least a little bit! The Brownies were also provided with a tour of the Palatine Township food pantry and they now have a better understanding how to provide additional help throughout the year to under-resourced families.

"St. Theresa School teaches children respect instilling the value of service to others." Liz Garthwait, Parent and 40895 troop Co-Leader .
