On Friday, March 15, Anna Martino, an eighth grader at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic School, was recognized by the Illinois Principals Association North Cook Region for her leadership and for being an outstanding student and school citizen.

The IPA’s North Cook Student recognition breakfast took place at the Metropolis Ballroom in Arlington Heights and honored area students who have demonstrated excellent aptitude, citizenship, academics, character, and integrity.

Martino, who serves as president of the Student Council at St. Thomas of Villanova, is also active in musical theatre and sports, including Cross Country. She recently served as a Project B3 student leader, educating students in younger grades about internet safety.

“Anna Martino is one of those students who has a kind word about everyone,” explained Principal Brinkman. “She was voted Student Council President because of her consistent support of her school, her academic and athletic dedication, and her compassion.
