Summer Savings on Palatine's Electric Bills

The Village of Palatine found a different company to supply the town’s electricity to power Palatine for less.

With Integrys Energy Services’ new rates, residents and small businesses will now pay 4.775 cents per kilowatt-hour for their power supply. That price is 42% less than Commonwealth Edison’s current rate, a cut in cost that is sure to lower electric expenses in Palatine.

The price of Electricity Supply Services makes up about two-thirds of a typical bill while the remaining cost is for delivery. The delivery cost will not change.

The Village also worked with Intergrys to secure 100% renewable energy for residents and small businesses. Which means in addition to the lower rates, people in Palatine will save money with the use of Green Energy.

The savings should have shown up on people’s bills in the beginning of July and those rates will stay right where they’re at. Integrys’ rates are fixed and guaranteed for July 2012 through June 2013, while ComEd’s rate will continue to change each June and October.

ComEd will still provide service, delivery and billing. Residents and small businesses that opted-out or have an expiring existing contract may participate in the Palatine Electric Aggregation Program. Contact Integrys Energy Services, 877-585-3431.
