'Suspicious' Person Dies After Entering Water In Palatine: Police
Authorities tried to contact the person before they entered a nearby body of water and did not resurface.
PALATINE, IL — A person died Monday night after entering a body of water during a suspicious person call in Palatine, police said.
The Palatine Police Department and Illinois State Police responded at around 6:11 p.m. Monday, to the 1200 block of East Twin Lakes Drive for a report of a suspicious person.
Officers and state troopers found someone matching the description of the suspicious person and tried to contact them.

During the incident, the person entered a nearby body of water and did not resurface.
The Palatine Fire Department responded and began rescue efforts. The person was later found in the water and taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
