Tammy Duckworth Joins Other U.S. Representatives in House Floor Sit-In
More than 70 members of Congress protested Wednesday to push for a vote on new gun control legislation.

U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth was part of a group of Democratic legislators who staged a sit-in on the House floor Wednesday as part of a protest to force a vote on gun control legislation, the Chicago Tribune reports.
More than 70 Congressional members participated in the afternoon sit-in, which was led by Georgial ep. John Lewis, the report stated. Duckworth was one of four representatives from the Chicago area to do so, the report added. The other members of Congress from the state included:
- Rep. Robin Kelly, Matteson
- Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Evanston
- Rep. Danny Davis, Chicago

Duckworth also posted updates on her Twitter feed from the House floor, using the hash tag #NoBillNoBreak, the rallying cry used by Democrats to try force new gun control measures through.

Duckworth is challenging incumbent GOP Sen. Mark Kirk for his seat in the U.S. Senate.
