Village, Park District to Host Arbor Day Celebration

Village of Palatine, Palatine Park District, Arbor Day 2016, Pleasant Hill Elementary School

The Village of Palatine and Palatine Park District will host an Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, April 29 at 10 AM at Pleasant Hill Elementary School, 434 W. Illinois Ave, in Palatine.

Students will participate in planting five trees—three Frontier Elms and two Red Oaks—on the Pleasant Hill School grounds to commemorate Arbor Day 2016. The celebration will also include remarks from Deputy Public Works Director Elias Koutas, Pleasant Hill students performing “A Tree is a Gift”, a poem read by the Student Council President, and Mayor Schwantz re-certifying Palatine as a Tree City USA.
