The 3rd Annual Halloween Techno Zombie Geo Cache Hunt in Palatine takes place on Saturday October 28th, 2017! and we are looking for some great zombies!

9:00 A.M - 7:00 P.M. (times can be rotated)

What is the Halloween Techno Zombie Geo Cache Hunt 2017! ? Its fun! It's silly!! It's scary!!!! It's Community!!!! And it's an adventure that challenges you as far as you can go!!!!
The Halloween Techno Zombie Geo Cache Hunt 2017! is an all ages family friendly, community style scavenger hunt produced by Emerald City Music Productions, Inc. of Palatine, that utilizes digital and traditional technology to send players into local Palatine businesses for a fun interactive activity. The routes also include light community service work.

This is the third year Emerald City Music Product
Inc, is producing this event. Founder Barb Sorensen explains "This year we estimate 100+ players, 30+ businesses, 4 routes, 4 community service organizations and a few other interesting stops for players along
the way. Some of it will be messy, some will be tricky, some will be things you might never have thought of before and all of it is a fun challenge for your wits!"

We also are including zombies this year! ...because it is a Geo Cache (pronounced "cash") hunt, we have included 1 small bag of gold chocolate coins in each players goodybag when they come to the entrance table. When a player gets to an outdoor location that has zombies protecting the clue bucket, they need to outwit or outmaneuver the zombies. If they can't get around the zombies to get to the clue bucket, they need to give the zombies a gold chocolate coin. There are more zombie locations than chocolate coins. So if the players run out, there are 2 refill stations (albeit at a cost of a few points taken from their game).

The zombies goal is to keep the players from the clues!

Things zombies might do is to quiz the players on things like knot tying, geography, or other game show type questions, they may also try to scare the players and chase them away from the buckets, or send them off on wild goose chases. hee hee hee heee

Are you clever, and know a lot about some things? You might make a great zombie!

Think you have what it takes to protect the clue buckets and win some gold chocolate coins? Then send us an email with your name, phone number and address and a current picture of your self. We will contact you with the orientation date and location information.

This year's game begin at 330 West Colfax, Suite 101, Palatine, IL at 9:00 am and run all day until 7:00 pm. There is an awards celebration with refreshments, live music, and a good old fashioned barn dance from
7:30 pm - 9 pm.

What's required for players to play the game?

1) A smartphone that can locate GPS coordinates, receive texts, images, sound bytes and video snippet clues
2) Transportation. We'd like to suggest a car, but a bicycle or motorbike will do too.
3) A ticket
4) Your brain!
