Watch Stephen Colbert Stump Palatine Delegate in 'Trump or False' (VIDEO)

On "The Late Show," Aaron Del Mar needed to guess whether Donald Trump was responsible for an outrageous quote.

Welcome to the election process of the 21st century.

Nowadays, no political convention is complete without hosts and correspondents from late-night talk shows milling about with the public, hoping to mine humorous bits from one of our country's most hallowed institutions. In fact, if you attend one of these events and don't wind up on a segment of The Daily Show, then you probably spent the entire time locked in your hotel room.

That's why it's no surprise that an Illinois delegate from Palatine made an appearance on Wednesday night's The Late Show with Stephen Colbert during a taped segment from the opening day of Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Aaron Del Mar, who is the Palatine Township Highway Commissioner and Palatine Township Republican Committeeman, was part of a bit called "Trump or False," which asked "contestants" to decide whether the GOP's presidential candidate actually spewed certain outrageous remarks.

Here's the quote Del Mar was given from Colbert:

"It doesn't really matter what the media writes, as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass."

Unfortunately, the former Palatine Village Council member said Trump didn't utter such a thing. Trump, however, did fire off the line in a 1991 Esquire magazine interview.
