Welcome to Palatine Patch. I'm Brian Slupski, and I am the editor of this site. Patch is part online newspaper and part community gathering place.

We want Patch to be the primary source of local news for Palatine.  This summer we completed a comprehensive directory of local businesses. In talking to people around town the desire of Palatine residents for local news coverage was obvious. We hope to fill that need.

At Palatine Patch you'll find stories about schools, arts and entertainment, prep sports, police and fire, and interesting features about the community.

We also want the site to be interactive with the community. A place for residents to go to announce engagements and births, congratulate someone on an accomplishment, or simply promote an upcoming event.

Palatine is a unique community with a vibrant downtown and terrific, award-winning schools. It is a community that deserves its own source of local news.
