Well-Known Science Fiction Writer, Frederick Pohl of Palatine, Dies
The author was 93 years old.

Frederick Pohl, an award-winning fiction author who has called Palatine home for the last several decades, died Monday at the age of 93, according to the Daily Herald.
Pohl died at a hospital after experiencing respiratory problems at his Palatine home, according to the USA Today.
Pohl wrote more than 40 novels, according to information posted on Pohl's blog.
His two better-known works were Gateway, published in 1978 and the winner of a Huge Award for science fiction writing, and The Space Merchants, according to USA Today.
The Palatine Public Library is expected to put up a display of Pohl's greatest works, according to the Daily Herald.
