Kelly L. Corcoran died shortly after arriving at Northwest Community Hospital following the crash at about 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, according to a Palatine Police Department report. Police said Corcoran, who was dressed in dark clothing, was walking in the 200 block of North Quentin Road, between Willow and Wood streets, in the southbound curb lane when he was hit by a 2013 Subaru Legacy.
The driver immediately called 911, police said. The driver of the Subaru was not injured, and there were no other passengers inside the vehicle.
The area does have public sidewalks located along the west side of North Quentin Road.
Quentin Road was temporarily closed for almost 5 hours while members from the multi-jurisdictional Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction (STAR) Team conducted their traffic reconstruction investigation.
No citations have been issued at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
