Women’s Club of Inverness Celebrates The Beauty of Grace

The Women's Club of Inverness kicked off their first meeting on September 14th!

Women’s Club of Inverness (WCI) President Eileen Kohne kicked off the beginning of a new year announcing the theme, The Beauty of Grace. WCI, a philanthropic organization dedicated to serving the needs of women, children, families and seniors in the communities surrounding Inverness, held its first general meeting on Thursday, September 14, at Inverness Golf Club.

Highlights of the meeting included words of appreciation from 2016 Education Scholarship Recipient Leslie Madrid. After hearing Madrid speak at a previous event, an anonymous donor provided Madrid with a $5,000 scholarship through Harper College. The gift was made in memory of Raisa Bratkiv, a beloved WCI member, who served every office and committee position during her tenure.

Executive Director Elizabeth Nabors of Journeys/The Road Home, and Executive Director Carol Reagan of Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council expressed their gratitude to WCI for grants received by their organizations for transportation assistance and support outreach to Spanish and Russian speaking adults. Both speakers discussed how WCI’s philanthropic efforts helped disadvantaged members of the community.
