11 File To Run For 2 Seats On Moraine Valley Community College Board

Eleven candidates filed to run for two seats on the Moraine Valley Community College Board Of Trustees in the April 4 election.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Eleven candidates have filed to run for two seats on the Moraine Valley Community College Board of Trustees in the April 4 election. Both seats are for six-year terms. Following are the names of candidates running:

1. David W. Shipyor
2. Tiffany S. Robinson
3. Carl R. Kunz
4. Adam D. Downs
5. Aseal Tineh
6. Tracy M. Sullivan
7. Jose “Yusuf” Vidal Valdes
8. Brian O’Neill
9. Eileen Kerlin Walsh
10. Daniel E. Casey
11. Joseph H. Zotto

The elected seats are in addition to two board vacancies that emerged in December when two board members resigned. Moraine Valley trustees are currently reviewing letters of interest and resumes submitted before the Jan. 6 deadline.

Applicants selected for interviews will meet with the Moraine Valley trustees, starting at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11 in Building D, Room D219, on the main Palos Hills campus, 9000 College Parkway.

Candidates who filed to run in the upcoming consolidated election were also invited to apply for the board vacancies. Whoever is appointed to the vacant seats, will have to run for a full, six-year terms in April 2025.
