2 Dead, 4 Injured In LaGrange Road Crash In Unincorporated Palos Park

PALOS PARK, IL — A 56-year-old man and 54-year-old woman died in a traffic crash Sunday a that shut down LaGrange Road for six hours, Cook County Sheriff’s Police said. Four other people were injured.

Around 4:12 p.m., sheriff’s police responded to a crash near 119th Street and LaGrange Road (Route 45) in unincorporated Palos Park. Police said a Buick was trying to make a left turn onto the northbound lanes of LaGrange Road, when it was struck by a Dodge pickup truck traveling southbound.

The 56-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and the 54-year-old woman died of injuries after being transported to a local hospital. Two other people in the Buick and two people in the Dodge were also taken to local hospitals for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing. LaGrange Road was shut down Sunday evening to allow for accident reconstruction. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Cook County Sheriff’s Police Detectives at 708-865-4896.
