2023 Football Schedule Released For Alan B. Shepard High School

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — With a little less than four weeks until the first high school football practices begin in Illinois on Aug. 7, the countdown to the fall season is officially underway. A nine-game regular season runs through the end of October, before the postseason culminates with state championship games scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 24-25 at Illinois State University.

The Illinois High School Association, in partnership with Max Preps, recently announced schedules for the varsity teams. In Palos Heights, fans will especially be keeping tabs on the local teams at Alan B. Shepard High School, as well as the area Catholic high schools.

This fall, the Astros will be joined in the South Suburban Red Conference by Richards (Oak Lawn), Oak Lawn Community, Evergreen Park Community, Reavis (Burbank), Argo (Summit) and Eisenhower (Blue Island).

Locally, Shepard High School's regular season begins on the road Aug. 25 when the Shepard faces off against Joliet Central. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
