22 Cooks Compete In Red Chili And Traditional Categories At Palos Park 'Chili In The Park'
Local cooks will compete in Red Chili and Traditional-Style categories Saturday, Feb. 7, in Chili In The Park at the Palos Park Rec Center.
PALOS PARK, IL — Get ready to turn up the heat as Palos Park hosts its annual “It’s Chili in the Park!” Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Palos Park Recreation Center, 8901 W. 123rd Street.
This beloved tradition brings together members of the Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) and 22 talented local cooks for a flavorful showdown filled with bold spices, hearty recipes, and plenty of friendly competition. Chili chefs from next door and all over the Midwest will compete in Red Chili and Traditional-Style categories, all vying for awards and the ultimate bragging rights.
Doors open to the public at 12:30 p.m. and guests are invited to come hungry and join the judging. For just $5, chili lovers can purchase a tasting cup, sample a wide variety of chili entries, and cast their vote for the coveted People’s Choice Award, and maybe pick up a few ideas for their Super Bowl chili. It’s a fun, interactive way for families, friends, and neighbors to warm up together while celebrating great food and community.
