PALOS HILLS, IL—Burglars bludgeoned their way into a pair of Palos Hills gaming cafes during the overnight hours of April 24, reports said.
The first burglary occurred at Darla’s Gaming Cafe, at 106th Street and Roberts Road. When Palos Hills police rolled up on the scene, the establishment’s front door had been destroyed. The burglars rifled through six gaming machines and stole the cash boxes, fleeing with an unknown amount of cash.
Witnesses and security cameras observed a dark-colored Acura SUV that had been reported stolen, police said.
Later on the same night, burglars struck Stella’s Gaming Cafe at 76th Avenue and 111th Street, reports said. The front door had been destroyed, and four gaming machines sustained significant damage. The cash boxes were stolen. The same Acura SUV spotted at Darla’s was observed on Stella’s premises.
