The Consolidated High School District 230 Board of Education approved John Jensen as Amos Alonzo Stagg High School’s new Dean of Students.

Jensen currently serves as Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Central Middle School in Evergreen Park, where he oversees discipline and attendance systems for approximately 300 students and has led restorative practices and progressive discipline structures that resulted in a 50–70% reduction in referrals across all categories. He also has experience analyzing data to identify trends and target interventions, as well as providing ongoing coaching to teachers on classroom management.

Prior to becoming a dean, Jensen was a Special Education teacher at Oak Lawn Community High School, Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, and Tinley Park High School.

Jensen said, “I am excited to join District 230 and Stagg High School. Hearing such positive feedback about the school's community and staff made me want to be part of this special place. I look forward to building strong relationships, supporting student growth, and contributing to Stagg's positive culture.”

Stagg principal Eric Olsen said, “As Dean, I have no doubt John will help foster a positive and inclusive school environment. His proven ability to manage complex systems and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff will strengthen our efforts to help all students feel they belong at Stagg, beginning on Day One.”

Jensen is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Special Education. He also holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Governors State University.
