PALOS HEIGHTS, IL—For the 15th consecutive year, Northwestern Memorial Hospital has once again been recognized among the nation's elite hospitals, retaining its prestigious Honor Roll designation in the 2026-2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, the healthcare system said in a statement.
Northwestern Memorial Hospital achieved regional No. 1 (tie) rankings in Illinois and the Chicago metropolitan area.
The rankings also highlight strong performances across Northwestern Medicine's regional hospitals. Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, which tied for the thirteenth ranking in Illinois and in the Chicago metropolitan area, achieved "High Performing" in 10 procedures and conditions.
"This recognition is a testament to the exceptional talent and dedication of the physicians, nurses and staff at Palos Hospital," said Mike Vivoda, president of Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, in a news release. "We are proud to bring the strength of Northwestern Medicine's academic health system to the south suburbs. Residents now have access to an extensive network of primary care and some of the most advanced specialty treatments and technologies close to home and work. It's great to see the team's efforts recognized by U.S. News."
