PALOS HILLS, IL—A Palos Hills resident who works as an Uber driver was tricked into giving a caller posing as an Uber representative their driver's license and credit card information, reports said.
The deceptive practice occurred in the 10400 block of 73rd Court on Aug. 12. The resident told police that they received a phone call from someone they thought was an Uber representative. The caller instructed the resident to provide their driver's license and credit card information.
Soon after the call, the resident started receiving notifications from their bank about attempted withdrawals of large sums of money from their account, police said.
