Ruse Burglars Target Elderly Homeowner In Palos Hills: Reports

PALOS HILLS, IL—An elderly Palos Hills woman was targeted in a ruse burglary by a man posing as an electrical worker, Palos Hills police reported.

The homeowner told officers that a man came to her door wearing a construction vest and hard hat. Police said the man followed the woman into her residence and told her he needed to check her circuit breakers.

While the man occupied the homeowner, alleged accomplices snuck into the house and ransacked several rooms, helping themselves to jewelry and money. Police are investigating.
