Street Closures Announced Saturday For 2026 Autumn In The Park Parade

PALOS PARK, IL—Palos Park police have announced road closures for Autumn In The Park Festival Parade this Saturday, Sept. 19.

McCarthy Road will be closed between 9600 West & 80th Ave. from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the Palos Park Autumn in the Park Parade. The parade itself starts at 1 p.m. (please note the new time). The fall festival will be held on the Village Green at 8901 W 123rd St.

The parade kicks off at 83rd Avenue on 123rd Street in Palos Park and travels westbound to 90th Avenue, ending near the festival grounds, and features bands, floats, civic groups, fire and police vehicles, horses, dogs, walkers, riders and community.

There will be a sensory-friendly block from 87th to 88th Avenue. No sirens, no horns and no loud noises so those with sensory sensitivities can enjoy the parade. .

Alternative routes for east-west traffic will be Route 83, 119th Street, and 131st Street. North and south streets will also be affected. Police said 80th Street will be open, 86th will be closed, and 87th & 88th will be closed at 123rd. 81st, 82nd, 83rd, Mohawk, and 93rd Ave. are closed at 123rd.

Motorists are asked to make plans to deal with the closures as part of the festival parade.
