Back To School: Palos Consolidated School Dist. 118 Academic Calendar 2026-2027

PALOS PARK, IL—Back-to-school planning has already begun in Palos Consolidated SD 118 for the 2026-2027 academic school year, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the new school year.

The first day of school for grade 1-8 students is Aug. 19, with the first day of preschool and kindergarten starting Aug. 20.

Leading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. We also suggest that you check the full Dist. 118 calendar and your child’s school calendar (Palos East, Palos West, Palos South) for conferences, open houses, meetings, exams, late starts, early dismissals, athletic and other school events.

Aug. 19 - First day of school, 1-8; visitation for kindergarten and preschool.

Aug. 20 - First day of regular attendance for kindergarten and preschool

Sept. 7 - Labor Day, no school

Oct. 9 - Teacher’s Institute Day, no school

Oct. 12 - Columbus Day, no school

Nov. 23 and Nov. 24 - Parent-Teacher Conferences, no student attendance

Nov. 25 to Nov. 27 - Thanksgiving Break

Nov. 30 - School resumes

Dec. 23 through Jan. 5 – Winter Break

Jan. 6 - School resumes

Jan. 18 - Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school

Feb. 15 - Presidents Day, no school

March 1 - Casimir Pulaski Day, no school

March 10 - Eid al-Fitr, no school

March 22 through March 26 - Spring break

March 29 - No student attendance

March 30 - School resumes

May 17 - Eid al-Adha, no school

May 31 - Memorial Day, no school

June 2 - Last day of preschool; 8th grade graduation

June 3 - Records Day, half-day

June 4 - Last day of school
