Back To School: Palos Heights School Dist. 128 Calendar 2024-2025

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — There are just a few short weeks of summer left, until students head back to school this month. Back-to-school planning has already begun in Palos Heights School Dist. 128, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2024-2025 school year.

The first day of school for K-8 students in Dist. 128 is Aug. 22. Students will be dismissed at noon.

Some dates are subject to change during the school year. We also suggest that you check the Dist. 128 calendar for late starts, early dismissals, exams, open houses, athletic and school events; or the Indian Hill, Navajo, Chippewa and Independence school calendars.

Sept. 2 – Labor Day, no school
Oct. 11 – Institute Day, student non-attendance day
Oct. 14 – Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day, no school
Nov. 5 – Election Day, no school
Nov. 25 through Nov. 26 – Parent/teacher conferences, no school
Nov. 27 through Nov. 29 – Thanksgiving break, no school
Dec. 23 through Jan. 3 – Winter Break, no school
Jan. 6 – School resumes
Jan. 20 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day, no school
Feb. 17 – Presidents’ Day, no school
March 24 through March 31– Spring Break, no school
April 1 – Institute Day, student non-attendance day
April 18 and April 21 - Non-attendance day
May 29 – Memorial Day, no school
June 4 – Last day for students, early dismissal 11 a.m.
