Big, Fat Greek Fest Planned Saturday and Sunday At St. Spyridon

Opa! St. Spyridon Hellenic Orthodox Church Greek Fest offers Greek cuisine, pastry, dancing, music and raffles July 8-9 in Palos Heights.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Head to Palos Heights for a big, fat Greek Fest this weekend at St. Spyridon Hellenic Orthodox Church, 12307 S. Ridgeland Ave. The festival runs from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 8, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday, July 9.

The event offers Greek cuisine, homemade pastries, music and dancing by Dj Yianni Greek Dance Troupe each night at 7 p.m., and $12,500 in cash raffle prizes. Included on the menu are many traditional Greek food and pastries, featuring mini souvlaki, Greek salad, handmade tiropita, Greek fries, shish kabob, grecian chicken and gyros platter.

Homemade pastries include loukoumades, baklava, kataifi and more. Top it off with Greek beer, wine and frappe, Greek coffee, pop or a baklava sundae.

Admission is $2, kids under 12 are free. Fest goers can park at Trinity Christian College, 6601 W. College Drive, Palos Heights, or the Marist High School Sportsplex, 12221 S. Ridgeland Ave., Palos Heights. Parking is free, both Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 11 p.m..
