Boil Order In Effect For Parts Of Palos Hills

A water main break near 101st Street and 82nd Avenue prompts a boil order for about 100 households.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A broken water main near 101st Street and 82nd Avenue prompted the City of Palos Hills to issue a boil order. About 100 residents are affected.

The boil order for residents on 80th Court, 81st Avenue, and 81st court from 103rd Street north to the Lucan retention ditch; and Eleanor Avenue from 82nd Avenue to 83rd Avenue.

Residents in this area should boil water for drinking and washing dishes at least five minutes before using. There is no need to boil water for laundry or bathing.

Palos Hills Public Works said the boil order will remain in effect until laboratory sampling confirms that the water quality has been fully restored. The lab results are expected Thursday.
