Buyer Drops, Loads Fake Twenties in Deposits On Walgreens Reload Cards

The buyer passed 30 counterfeit twenty-dollar bills at Walgreen's, Palos Hills police said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A man passed 30 counterfeit twenties and deposited them on a universal reload cards at Walgreens at 111th Street and Southwest Highway, reports said.

On Oct. 18, employees told police that a man entered the store and immediately went to the cash register. The man produced 30 twenty-dollar bills and deposited them on to a universal swipe reload card.

One transaction for $220 was made at 8:30 p.m., followed by a $210 transaction at 8:31 p.m., and another for $205 at 8:32 p.m. The man left the store at 8:33 p.m., police determined. The twenties – $600 worth in total – later proved to be counterfeit.
