Cal-Sag Bridge Will Be Reduced To One Lane For Cleaning

The Cal-Sag Bridge on Southwest Highway will be reduced to one lane for cleaning and painting starting April 8.

PALOS TOWNSHIP, IL -- The Illinois Department of Transportation will be cleaning and painting the bridge over the Cal-Sag Channel on Southwest Highway (Illinois 7) in Palos Heights and Palos Hills. Work will begin, weather permitting, on Monday, April 8.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. The project is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
