Gas Station Carjackers Threaten To 'Blow Owner’s Head Off': Police

A 2014 Chevy Traverse was stolen while the vehicle owner was paying for gas at Speedway, Palos Hills police reports said.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A pair of gunmen carjacked a Chevy Traverse Saturday at a Palos Hills gas station while the vehicle owner was pumping gas, reports said.

Palos Hills police responded to an aggravated vehicle hijacking at the Speedway, 10300 S. Roberts Road. The owner told police they were returning to their vehicle after paying for gas, when they were met by two men.

The pair demanded the vehicle owner’s money and car keys, and "threatened to blow the vehicle owner’s head off," according to the police report. One of the purported carjackers was armed with a pistol in his waistband. The men shoved the vehicle owner out of the way and drove off in the complainant’s 2014 Chevy Traverse.
