Catholic High School Football Players Receive All-State Honor

CHICAGO, IL — Few people understand football players more than their coaches. That's why the honor of being named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association All-State Teams is a special one.

Football players from across the state of Illinois were recently voted to the list following a shortened spring campaign, that was preceded by a postponed fall season, for 2020-2021.
The following local players were voted to the all-state teams by the IHSFCA:

2020-2021 IHSFCA - State Team 8A

Myles Jones, lineback, senior, Brother Rice High School, Chicago; Coach Brian Badke

Honorable mention:

Ryan Whelan, defensive end, senior, Brother Rice High School, Chicago; Coach Brian Badke

Matt Rolek, wide receiver/defensive back, senior, Marist High School, Chicago: Coach Ron Dawczak

Kaleb Brown, running back/wide receiver, junior, St. Rita of Cascia High School; Coach Todd Kuska

Michael Gaughan, lineback, junior, St. Rita of Cascia High School; Coach Todd Kuska

Darius Brown, quarterback, senior, St. Laurence High School, Burbank; Coach Adam Nissen
