Chicago Ridge Man Goes On Shopping Spree With 'Found' ATM Card: Cops
Palos Heights police said the man admitted to finding a debit card in an ATM and using it to make fraudulent purchases.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — A Chicago Ridge man racked up charges on a debit card someone left at an ATM in October, police said. Ammar Najjar, 45, was charged with a felony count of aggravated identify theft.
On Oct. 21, a resident told Palos Heights police that he left his debit card in an ATM in the 6300 block of 135th Street. The resident noticed multiple fraudulent charges on his bank statement. Police obtained video from the store where the card was lost and from other stores where fraudulent purchases were made.
Najjar was identified in surveillance video as the man making fraudulent purchases, police said. He was arrested on suspicion of forgery on Jan. 4. Police said Najjar gave a full confession.
