Cops Investigate Attack on Woman in Worth
Police believe an attempt to grab a woman in Worth is related to similar attacks in Palos Hills.

WORTH, IL -- Worth police are investigating another attack on a woman eerily similar to another that occurred on June 12 in Palos Hills, in which a woman was grabbed while watering flowers in her yard, according to a police news release.
The suspect, described as an African American male in his late teens to early twenties with a small build and carrying a black backpack, approached a woman around 9 p.m. June 14, in the 7400 block of Southwest Highway. The man grabbed the woman by the shorts she was wearing as she was walking to her residence and told her to keep quiet. Police said he was interrupted by a witness and fled westbound.

Worth and Palos Hills police responded to the scene. Officers searched the area but could not find the fleeing suspect. On June 12, an elderly woman was attacked in her yard in the 7800 block of West 104th Street in Palos Hills, gave a similar description of the suspect, who she said had an Afro hairstyle and carried a backpack. She initially thought the suspect was a salesman.
Area law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation, which they believe is related to similar incidents that occurred in Palos Hills on June 12 and June 13. Palos Hills police have not released information about the later incident.
