Cops Raid Self-Storage Unit, Find 554 Grams of Cocaine: Prosecutor
Tinley Park man charged with manufacturing and intent to deliver after Alsip police discover alleged drug operation in storage unit.

Alsip, IL, May 25, 2016 -- A Tinley Park man was arrested after police found more than a pound of cocaine at a self-storage facility, prosecutors said.
Kyle Szabo, 28, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Alsip police went to execute a search warrant the afternoon of May 23 at Public Storage, 4849 W. 115th St.
There, the prosecutor said police found 554 grams of cocaine, digital scales, several baggies, and a bag of cocaine between two metal plates that were duct taped to a vise.

Szabo allegedly made admissions to police that he purchased the cocaine for $600, which he and his friends would cut and sell for $1,800.
The prosecutor said Szabo has past felony convictions for residential burglary and possession with manufacture and delivery of cannabis.
The assistant public defender told the judge that Szabo lives in Tinley Park and is a Bremen High School graduate.
Judge Felice set bail at $1 million. He also ordered Szabo to home confinement should he bond out of jail
The prosecutor requested a hearing for the source of funds, should Szabo make bail.
Before he left the courtroom, Szabo asked when the report from the Illinois Crime Lab would be returned to determine “how much cocaine there really was.”
If convicted, Szabo faces a minimum of 12 years and a maximum sentence of 50 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Szabo’s next court hearing is June 20 in Bridgeview.
